WALTER SMITH III TRIO
ロバート・グラスパー、マリア・シュナイダー、ジョエル・ロス、ジョシュア・レッドマン、ロン・カーター等と共演。現代ジャズ・シーンを牽引するサックス奏者、ウォルター・スミス3世が最新アルバム『Twio Vol. 2』のコア・メンバーと共に登場する。テキサス州ヒューストン出身の彼は、ヒューストン芸術高校、バークリー音楽大学を経て、2003年「セロニアス・モンク・インスティテュート・オブ・ジャズ」にて修士号を取得。コットンクラブには2017年にエリック・ハーランドのバンドで出演したことがあるものの、リーダー公演の開催は今回が初となる。ジョー・サンダース(b)とケンドリック・スコット(ds)とのコードレス・トリオが綴る、イマジネーション豊かなジャズの世界を満喫したい。
